Our Hi-Lo Doubles tournament delivered some excellent croquet and plenty of close competition. The handicap pairings worked particularly well, resulting in some great games and a closely contested tournament.

The winners were decided before the final round, so the match between Graham Fahey and Ros Winspear and Bruce McComb and Debbie O’Hoy was not played, as it would not have changed the final standings.

Final Results:

• 1st: Paul Coughlin and Doug Neale – 4 games, 48 hoops
• 2nd: Ros Winspear and Graham Fahey – 3 games, 14 hoops
• 3rd: Abigail Hand and Gavan Woinarski – 3 games, 12 hoops

Doug reported that it was an amazing tournament and was impressed by the standard of play throughout. It was particularly heartening to see the close games, some impressive long roquets, well-run hoops and Ros’s calm approach to the game.
